On June 29, China Railway Shanhe No. 4 shield machine successfully passed through the 33-31 interval of Guangzhou Urban Comprehensive Pipeline Corridor, becoming the first shield machine to pass through Guangzhou Urban Comprehensive Pipeline Corridor.
The total length of underground comprehensive pipeline corridor in Guangzhou city center is about 48 kilometers, and the length of 33-31 interval of the corridor is 1,671 meters, which is responsible for by the third section of the fourth division of China Railway Bureau 5, and adopts the 6280 soil-pressure-balanced shield machine of China Railway Shanhe. After successfully completing the construction task of Changsha Metro Line 4, the shield machine of China Railway Shanhe No.4 shifted from Changsha to Guangzhou.It started on June 6, 2019 and has successfully completed the construction task in only one year.
From Shaft No. 33 to Shaft No. 31, the shield machine No. 4 of China Railway Shanhe not only went through construction tests such as large longitudinal slopes and small turns, but also overcame two construction problems. When passing through Hedong Bridge, the minimum distance between the bridge pile of Hedong Bridge and the inter-district tunnel was only 1.57m, and when passing through Guangfo Line, the minimum distance between the shield machine and Guangfo Line was only 8.22m, which might cause construction accidents and irreparable losses if the shield machine was a little bit careless during the construction process. With the advanced performance and rich construction experience of the engineering team, the shield machine No. 4 of China Railway Shanhe withstood the test and successfully completed the construction task, becoming the first shield machine to pass through the entire line of the comprehensive pipeline corridor in Guangzhou urban area.
